Terms of Use

Last updated: October 2026

This website is published by the Pelican Lake Association, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation organized under Chapter 181 of the Wisconsin Statutes and based in Oneida County, Wisconsin. By using this site you agree to the terms below. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.

Using this site

You are welcome to read, print and share anything published here for personal, educational or community purposes, except for the maps and marked material described in the next section. You may not use this site to send unsolicited commercial messages, collect email addresses or member information for marketing, attempt to gain access to parts of the site that are not public, or interfere with its operation.

Forms on this site are for people aged 18 and over. If you are younger, please ask a parent or guardian to submit on your behalf.

Lake maps and other marked material

The permission above does not cover lake maps published by the association, or anything else on this site that carries a copyright notice, a watermark, or a statement that it may not be copied. You may view this material on this site. You may not copy, download, redistribute, post elsewhere or sell it without the association’s written permission, even if your purpose is educational or for the community. To ask for permission, use the contact form.

Information about the lake — please read this part

Everything this site publishes about Pelican Lake is provided for general information and in good faith. It is not a navigation aid and it is not a safety guarantee.

  • Hazard buoys mark some hazards, not all of them. Buoys are placed seasonally and can be moved, damaged or lost. The absence of a buoy does not mean the water is safe. Maps and buoy information on this site do not replace your own judgment on the water.
  • Depth, weed and lake-bottom maps are survey products. They describe conditions at the time of the survey. Lake bottoms, water levels and vegetation change.
  • Ice is never safe. The association publishes no ice condition reports and no ice safety assurances of any kind.
  • Fishing and boating regulations change. Any summary here is a convenience. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is the authority on current regulations, and its published rules govern.

You are responsible for your own safety and for the safety of anyone with you, on the water and on the ice.

Documents published here

Minutes, financial reports, bylaws and other documents are posted for the convenience of members. The official records of the association are the approved copies held by the Secretary, and those copies govern if they differ from anything published on this site. Where a document is a draft, treat it as a draft until the membership or the board has approved it.

Membership and payments

Membership in the Pelican Lake Association is governed by the association’s bylaws, which set out who may join, what rights membership carries, and how the association is governed. Dues are set by the membership. Current dues and the ways to join are on the Support page.

Dues and donations are used for the association’s purposes as approved by the membership. Some contributions may be restricted to a particular fund at the donor’s request. If you pay something in error, our Refund Policy explains what happens next. The association is a registered 501(c)(3) organization; whether a particular payment is tax-deductible depends on your circumstances, and raffle tickets are not deductible.

Photographs and other material you send us

Photographs you submit remain yours. By submitting them you give the Pelican Lake Association permission to publish and reuse them in its website, newsletter, social media and printed materials, with credit as you have asked for it. The consent you give on the submission form is the record of that permission. Please only send photographs you took yourself, or have permission to share.

Text, photographs and documents published by the association on this site remain the property of the association or of the person who supplied them. Please ask before reproducing them commercially.

Links, embedded video and local businesses

This site links to government agencies, partner organizations and local businesses, and lists businesses that support the association. Those links and listings are provided as a courtesy. They are not endorsements, and the association is not responsible for the content, products, services or practices of anyone else.

No warranty, and limits on liability

This site is provided as it is. The association does not promise that it will always be available, error-free, or up to date, and makes no warranties of any kind about it. To the fullest extent Wisconsin law allows, the Pelican Lake Association, its directors, officers, volunteers and contractors are not liable for any loss, injury or damage arising from the use of this site or from reliance on information published here.

Wisconsin law applies

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, and any dispute arising from them belongs in the state or federal courts serving Oneida County, Wisconsin.

Changes to these terms

The association may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last changed, and continuing to use the site means you accept the current version.
