Volunteer

Your Lake. Your Association. Your Impact.

A strong lake association starts with people who care. Throughout the year, members make a difference in ways both big and small—from volunteering at an event or cleanup to sharing a skill, helping with a project, or simply supporting the Association through membership. There’s no required level of involvement.

Every bit of participation adds up—and helps keep Pelican Lake a place we’re proud to call home.

What You Can Do for the Lake

You don’t have to take on a big commitment to make a difference. There are plenty of ways to pitch in, from a few hours twice a year to helping with something you already enjoy.

Give a Morning

Spring and fall Adopt-a-Highway clean-ups take just a few hours. We provide the bags, vests, and instructions—you just show up and help keep our roadsides looking good. Community service hours can also be earned.

Lend a Hand at an Event

Our events—from Winterfest and the Ski Show to the FUNRaiser and meat raffle—run on people willing to pitch in. Sell a few tickets, help with setup, run a game or just jump in where needed. It’s an fun way to meet other members and see what the Association is all about.

Put Your Interests to Work

Love fishing? Help with the musky PIT tag program. Enjoy being outdoors? There are opportunities to work on fish habitat or the shoreline garden.

Enjoy taking photos, writing, or keeping things organized? Put those skills to work for Pelican Lake! Help capture lake memories, update our website, or contribute to our newsletter. There’s a place for everyone to pitch in.

Tell Us What Interests You

Want to lend a hand, but not sure where you fit? Tell us what sounds interesting!

Check as many areas as you’d like. There’s no commitment—you’re simply letting us know what you might enjoy helping with when an opportunity comes up. Not sure? Check a few that catch your eye and tell us in the message box. We’ll be happy to chat and find a way for you to get involved.

What Happens Next

Your form will go to the Membership Committee, who will share it with the committees you’re interested in. Someone will reach out when an opportunity comes up that’s a good fit.

Please be patient—everyone involved is a volunteer, so it may take a little time to get back to you. If you haven’t heard from us after a few weeks, please feel free to follow up through the contact form. It may simply mean your message got missed, not that we don’t need or appreciate your help!

Other Ways to Help

Volunteering your time isn’t the only way to support Pelican Lake. Here are a few other ways to get involved:

  • Join the association. Membership is the foundation that helps make our work possible. Join or renew.
  • Show up and connect. Attend an event, meeting, or lake activity and meet the people who are already helping make a difference. See what’s coming up.
  • Give what you can. If you don’t have the time to volunteer, a gift can help fund the work that keeps Pelican Lake healthy and protected. Ways to give.
  • Share your photos. Have a great picture of the lake, wildlife, or people enjoying Pelican Lake? We’re always looking for photos to share in our newsletter, website, and other PLA communications. Send us photos.
