Annual Membership Meeting Minutes — June 6, 2026 (Draft)

Year:

At the June 6, 2026 Annual Meeting, Pelican Lake Association members approved raising annual dues to $30, authorized the association to take over funding of the lake’s buoy program with a three-year maintenance contract, adopted the 2026 and 2027 budgets, and elected the 2026–27 Board of Directors.

Members approved raising annual dues from $25 to $30 per member, and adopted the revised 2026 budget along with the 2027 budget. The Financial Review Committee — which works independently of the board — reported on its review of the 2025 financial statements, having identified and corrected several misstated accounts arising from duplicate entries. The committee reported no money had been used incorrectly, and recommended the Finance Committee meet quarterly going forward. The committee is seeking a new chair.

Members authorized the association to take on the buoy program after the Town of Enterprise ended its funding, with the Town of Schoepke continuing its support. A Buoy Operational and Maintenance Fund was formally established, built from member donations toward roughly three years of program costs, with the board authorized to reallocate any surplus above that threshold. Members also approved extending the association’s buoy management contract with Salty Dog Services LLC to a three-year term covering installation, removal, maintenance, replacement, and storage. A separate Buoy Memorial Fund allows a buoy to be dedicated in memory of a loved one.

Nick Johnson of Aquatic Plant Management spoke on managing Eurasian watermilfoil, reviewing harvesting, diver-assisted removal, and chemical control, and sharing six years of removal data for the lake. The 2026 plan shifts away from diver-assisted harvesting toward cutting navigation lanes in Musky and Outlet Bays, with late-season harvesting in Musky and Treacherous Bays continuing a study of how late cutting affects the following year’s growth. Committee reports also covered the summer events schedule, ongoing shoreline restoration work at the Schoepke Town Hall, the new lake survey and how its data should be shared with members, the 10-panfish limit now in effect, and plans for a more maintainable association website.

Members elected the 2026–27 Board of Directors: Judy Boelter, Jim Frymark, Lud Lodholz, Wayne Morgan, Ted Nelson, Alex Rossman, and Rick Schroeder. Officers are chosen by the board. Outgoing directors Steve Tripp, Pat Schenk, and Bob Mott were thanked for their service.

Draft minutes of the Pelican Lake Association Annual Membership Meeting held 6 June 2026 at the Fire District Building, Pelican Lake.
