At its December 8, 2025 board meeting, the Pelican Lake Association reported strong fundraising results and progress toward the $30,000 buoy fund, corrected an earlier treasury reporting error, and reviewed fish-tagging data and 2026 Eurasian watermilfoil management options ahead of the February 9 meeting.
The Treasurer’s report corrected an earlier figure: the cash position reported as -$800 at the October 13 meeting was actually $800 cash on hand. Bills were paid except for a Fuller CPA invoice and part of the lake survey cost, the books were being reconciled, and the board noted a drop from $167,000 available in June to a $135,000 balance at the time of the meeting, partly reflecting the association’s move to QuickBooks. The board reaffirmed sending formal thank-yous for donations over $250.
Fundraising reported two raffle drawings netting $2,100 and $7,045, and continued progress toward the $30,000 buoy fund, with a matched $10,000 donation from Steve Tripp and his wife, a blind raffle organized by Kerry Romsa, and outreach to the Towns of Enterprise and Schoepke for support. Winterfest was on track for February 7. Membership reported 350 members paid through June 2026, and the board discussed reviewing website platform options with Nicolet College to keep information current for members.
The Water Quality Committee outlined 2026 Eurasian watermilfoil management options, including cutting navigation lanes without diver-assisted harvesting, and discussed how to handle requests for the membership-funded lake survey data. Fish and Wildlife reported a chip-tagging study covering 163 fish in the lake — 89 musky and 74 other fish — to gather data on survival, growth, and movement.
