Meetings & Minutes

Come Be Part of the Conversation

All members in good standing are welcome at board and committee meetings. Your voice matters. Important decisions about Pelican Lake are shaped by the members who show up, ask questions, share ideas, and get involved.

The Annual Membership Meeting

Held each June at the Pelican Lake Firehouse, the Annual Membership Meeting is where members have a direct voice in the Association’s future. Members vote on the budget, elect directors, and make important decisions affecting Pelican Lake.

The meeting often features an engaging guest speaker who shares insights on lake health, management, conservation, or other topics important to our community.

Special membership meetings may also be called throughout the year when needed.

One Membership, One Vote

Each paid membership carries one vote at the Annual Membership Meeting. Dues must be paid on or before the meeting date for your vote to count. Not sure if your membership is current? Reach out before the meeting—we’re happy to help.

Board & Committee Meetings

The Board of Directors meets throughout the year to guide the Association between annual membership meetings. Our committees meet as needed to keep their work moving—from preparing for harvesting season to planning community events and fundraising.

Committee meetings are where much of the hands-on work happens, and members are welcome to attend. Interested in a particular area? Joining a committee meeting is a great way to learn more and see how you can get involved.

Join Us on Google Meet

Can’t be at the lake? You can still be part of the conversation. PLAW offers a Google Meet option for meetings so seasonal members and others who can’t attend in person can stay informed and involved—because being away from Pelican Lake, even in February, shouldn’t mean being out of the loop.

Please note: Members joining meetings via Google Meet are welcome to observe but need to remain muted and are not permitted to vote. You can still vote by proxy.

Can’t Attend in Person? Your Vote Can Still Count!

If you can’t attend the Annual Membership Meeting, you can give your vote to someone who will be there by using a proxy. Your participation also helps the Association meet the quorum needed to conduct important business.

Simply complete the proxy form and return it before the meeting, naming someone who will attend—such as a neighbor, board member, or friend.

Return it by mail to Pelican Lake Association, PO Box 96, Pelican Lake, WI 54463, or ask through the contact form about returning it another way. The return deadline is stated on the form and in the meeting notice.
