Seeking Limited Summer Hires for Watercraft Inspection
Watercraft Inspectors are the frontline defense against the spread of AIS and help protect our beautiful lakes and rivers
These positions look great on a resume towards future careers in natural resources.
Starting pay is $14.00 per hour with no benefits.
Applicants will be required to work most weekends (Friday, Saturday, & Sunday), including holidays.
6 – 18 hours per week beginning near May 22 through Labor Day.
Work schedules and employment period may vary, with some flexibility available.
Duties include: Conduct CBCW watercraft inspections at Pelican Lake boat landings.
Educate boaters about the AIS prevention steps and where AIS are most likely to hitch a ride on their equipment, participate in the Statewide AIS campaign, collect CBCW.
Applicants will gain experience in AIS prevention, monitoring, educational outreach, and water resource stewardship.
Qualifications required: Must be 16 or older and a valid WI driver’s license. A reliable vehicle and proof of vehicle insurance is required. Mileage is not reimbursed. Applicants must be comfortable working independently and outside in variable weather; have excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively and courteously with the public; make good independent decisions based on practices, rules, and procedures. Prior experience with AIS and CBCW is not necessary, training is provided.
