Water Quality Committee

The Water Quality Committe actively works to improve the water quality in our lake and to fight invasive plant species.  This active Committee meets regularly to discuss the challenges we face on our lake.

Lake Management Plan

PLA Members and Interested Public,

Soon to be posted on the PLA Website is the Official First Draft of the PLA’s Comprehensive Management Plan for Pelican Lake.

The Goal of the plan is to develop a set of management goals and a series of realistic management actions to help reach those goals. These management actions include aquatic plant management related goals mainly for managing Eurasian watermilfoil (EWM.)

There are two (2) documents 1. Plan/Maps 2. Appendices

The posting comment period will last for 21 days, once posted. This 21-day posting will meet the DNR requirement to allow the PLA to apply for state cost sharing grants for Pelican Lake projects including AIS control grants.

SUGGESTED APPROACH

Review Section 5.0 and send any comments/ suggested additions and/or revisions to Bob Mott (bobmott329@msn.com.) within the 21-day comment period. This period will end approximately September 5, 2024. Feel free to review and comment on any and all other areas of the plan.

The comments will be grouped and passed on to Onterra which has developed the plan.

Those comments will be incorporated into the Final Plan.

This is an opportunity for you to become involved in determining the direction the PLA will pursue in managing Pelican Lake for the next decade.

Thank you,

Bob Mott

PLA Planning Committee Chair
