Channel Harvesting - Deadline Fast Approaching

Channel Harvesting

We know there was a lot of interest last year from our PLA Membership regarding Channel

Harvesting.

We are providing the following as informational only.

PLA has become aware that aquatic plant management companies offer mechanical harvesting

services to private riparian property owners.

There is an important Deadline coming up, that we want our membership to be aware of!

If you desire such services, we encourage you to do your own research and reach out to aquatic

plant management companies BEFORE May 1st, the application deadline for required DNR

permitting of this activity.

As a reference: Around $250 was quoted for one single lane channel per property. Channel

dimensions are limited by harvester’s capabilities and DNR restrictions.

PLA cannot recommend a specific company for this service. PLA uses APM for weed harvesting

and we are aware they have provided this service in the past.

Again, these services are strictly between the aquatic plant management companies and the private

property owners. PLA will neither negotiate for nor endorse any specific company. This is just to

provide membership notice of possible navigation services.
